A few people have asked, and yes, it's read right to left. It's based on a Japanese video game, so it seemed appropriate.

"You certainly have a lovely place here," Gloria said, trying to take the initiative as the creature backed away somewhat. "I didn't mean to barge in so rudely - gosh and I haven't even introduced myself." Her words were honeyed, with a dash of the sardonic. "My name is Gloria." The creature looked at her, but said nothing. "I'm so sorry about my little...ah...altercation with those darling kids of yours. They did give me something of a rough greeting." It remained silent.

"Anyway," Gloria said, "we've had our little misunderstanding. I killed some of your kids, you got the rest to tie me up and knock me out." She smiled. "I've had worse first dates. So why don't we just end this here? You let me go..." Her smile faded, and her expression grew dark.  "...and I make sure something really bad doesn't happen to you."

There was a long pause. Gloria wondered if the beast was considering her threat.
"By all that's infernal, you do give those lovely lips a good workout, don't you? I think you need to rest them." Suddenly, Gloria felt the coils round her tighten slightly, before yanking her forward. She gasped in distress: for all her bravado, she was still a captive.
